At the age of 18 I went to Syntra Hasselt in Belgium to start taking
photography classes.
After I graduated I wanted to further expand my vision and started at the
Academy of Fine Arts in Hasselt (SASK) where I got my diploma
Higher Grade in Photography (2006) & Specialisation Grade in Photography (2009).
My main focus of interest is film- and glass plate photography (conceptual, landscape & abstract) where I mostly work with mid- and large format cameras up to 8x10”.
I mainly work from my house in Maastricht where I have built a sufficient darkroom and studio to suit my needs. It’s where I print work for clients and my personal work.
My goal is to learn and work with different kinds of alternative photographic processes and in the coarse of time help spreading the knowledge in collaboration with others so that it may never disappear. Lith printing has caught my interest and I’ve set up the wet plate collodion system which I’m currently working with most of the time. You can follow the progressions on my blog, dedicated to my working with alternative processes.
Momentarily I’m working on an entirely new website. I hope this to be launched somewhere in the beginning of 2010.
