Nr3433e-About Me

At the age of 18 I went to Syntra Hasselt in Belgium to start taking photography classes. It was there where I met the greatest passion of my life.
After three years of having followed the entire course I graduated. Since it was kind of a commercial based tutoring I decided I wanted to expand my vision and started at the Art Academy in Hasselt where I’m currently working on my graduating project. You can find examples of that specific project in “Conceptuelles”.

This particular project is about the superficiality of today’s society. It’s all about looks and appearances and not about what’s really there.
Mass media play a key role here in keeping up the appearances in order to keep the show going. They have created a truly everything fictonal world which looks so attractive at first that a lot of people are letting themselves be transformed into sheep with media as their shepherd.

To me, looking at society this way, it’s nothing more than a beautifully presented misery and strangely everybody seems to like it.

On the other hand, my photographs will also show you what I do like and find beautiful. Things that appeal to me in various manners and I can enjoy intensely.
Furthermore I’m experimenting with a film named Kodak Technical Pan. This film is no longer in production but its features are so special it’s a challenge working with. The incredible high contrast is one of its exceptionalities, depending on its development of course.
